Raven’s Wish is a local business in Janesville, Wisconsin, that offers custom framing services and hosts an art gallery showcasing works by local artists. We recently sat down with the owner of Raven’s Wish, Kegane Reyes, to learn more about her business and how it can help our clients with custom framing.

A Bit About Raven’s Wish

Q: Can you describe Raven’s Wish in a nutshell? What products or services do you offer?

“Raven’s Wish is primarily a custom framing shop, but it also serves as a gallery for local artists to showcase their work.” Here, framed pieces are treated with the utmost care and attention to detail, and you can choose from a range of colors, materials, and custom options you simply won’t find elsewhere.

Inspiration Behind the Business

Q: What inspired you to purchase this business, and how will it change under your ownership?

Kegane’s journey to take over Raven’s Wish is a story of passion meeting opportunity. “I had an idea and just ran with it,” she says with a laugh. The business will be the same at its core, but with my own spin on it.” This means hand-picking each piece of art that enters the gallery, ensuring that only the highest-quality pieces make the cut.

What Sets Raven’s Wish Apart

Q: What sets your business apart from others in the same industry?

In an industry where big-box stores often dominate, Raven’s Wish offers something unique. “My attention to detail is something that chain stores can’t compete with. Here, every frame is inspected carefully; I strive for perfection because custom framing is an investment, and I believe my customers deserve the best.” Beyond the quality, Raven’s Wish offers a vast selection of colors and materials. If they don’t have the frame color you need, she’ll find it—or even make it herself.

Unique Offerings You Might Not Know About

Q: Do you have any unique or specialized offerings that people might not be aware of?

At Raven’s Wish, it’s not just about framing new pieces; they also repair broken frames, aged mats, and replace glass. “I understand that sometimes a picture doesn’t fit your decor, but you want to keep it. I’ll work with you to make sure it fits your home.”

A Welcoming Space for All

Q: Who is your ideal customer?

More than anything, Raven’s Wish is about relationships. “My ideal customer is someone who’s great to talk to. A small order from a friendly face can make my day. I love connecting with people and making them feel at home.”

Serving Our Community and Beyond

Q: What geographical area do you primarily serve?

Raven’s Wish serves Rock, Dane, and Walworth counties. The owner is committed to providing top-notch service, even if it means tracking down that perfect frame color for customers from further afield.

Helping Customers Navigate Their Options

Q: What are the primary needs or problems your business solves for customers?

With hundreds of matting and framing options, choosing the right frame can be overwhelming. They will go the extra mile to help customers design the perfect look for their art. “If a customer feels unsure, we’re always ready to offer our expertise.”

Greeting Cards with a Personal Touch

Q: Can you explain your most popular products or services?

One of the hidden gems at Raven’s Wish is their selection of greeting cards, made by local artists and perfect for any occasion. Each card is blank inside, allowing customers to personalize it for birthdays, anniversaries, or any other special day.

Contacting Raven’s Wish

Q: How would prospective clients contact you?

The best way to visit the shop is to stop in during open hours—Wednesday through Friday, 10 am to 4 pm, and Saturday, 9 am to 3 pm. Tuesdays are available for appointments, and with just a quick email or call, you can set up a time that works for you. “I live just a hop, skip, and a jump away, so if evenings work better, I can make it happen.”

Long-Term Vision

Q: What is your business’s mission or long-term vision?

At its heart, Raven’s Wish is a family business. The owner’s goal is to support her family while continuing to grow the framing side of the business. With the new children’s museum across the street, she’s created a kid-friendly space to ensure everyone feels welcome.
